- CMS has announced that Phase III of the CROWN Web implementation will begin in January, 2011. At least twenty facilities from Network 11 will beparticipating. Details are available on the Project CROWN Web site and on the Network 11 CROWN Web page.
- In early 2010 Network 11 and other ESRD Networks hosted webinar presentations on conflict resolution for dialysis staff and safety in the dialysis unit. Kathi Niccum Ed. D. from Network 9/10 used the theme of "The Patient Whisperer" to describe a person who has the ability to relate to and connect to patients using interpersonal communication skills. Her presentation can be found on our Managing Conflict page. John Gowan, LMSW, discussed common patent complaints related to safety. His presentation can be found on our Patient Safety page.
- The Network 11 Consumer Committee recently developed ‘Stop Sign’ materials for patient and providers. These cards represent a Special Project that the Consumer Committee worked on during 2009. The cards can be used when an ESRD patient is hospitalized to let hospital staff know that the patient has renal issues and will require special care. Samples of the wallet size cards for patients, as well as full page versions of these Stop Signs that can be taped to the hospital wall near their bed are available for download on our Consumer Committee page.
