Safe and Timely Immunizations Coalition

Since 2005, Network 11 has collaborated with Network 6, and Network 15, as part of the Safe and Timely Immunizations Coalition (STIC). This coalition, with representation from Quality Improvement Organizations, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), patient organizations, and all areas of the renal community, including the large dialysis organizations, independent dialysis facilities, and others, has collected facility practice patterns and immunization data for influenza, pneumococcal pneumonia, and hepatitis B. In addition, the coalition has produced two resources.

• Safe and Timely Immunizations Coalition Resource Guide: This resource, developed by the Immunization Action Coalition, is a comprehensive resource guide of educational Materials on Hepatitis B, Influenza and Pneumococcal Immunizations.
• Guidelines for Vaccinating Kidney Dialysis Patients and Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease: This resource was developed by the CDC and has all immunization recommendations for CKD and dialysis patients in one convenient document.
