Conditions for Coverage for ESRD Facilities

On April 15, 2008, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the revised Conditions for Coverage for ESRD facilities. These are the regulations that dialysis facilities must meet to be Medicare certified to provide dialysis services to patients with End Stage Renal Disease. The Conditions for Coverage (CfC) will take effect on October 14, 2008. These CfC take the place of the former Conditions, which were released in 1976. It is important that you become familiar with the new CfC, which contain several very important changes.
